I had plans
To keep you warm in every winter.
To sit with you by the fire
And tell you stories l’ve already told you before.
I had plans to
Hold you close
And renew the promises l made to you.
I had plans
To some day tell our kids,
The same folktales that were told to me by my grandparents when l was a kid.
I had plans to never disappoint.
To never cease loving and caring.
In every step through out the miles of life.
But you had other plans.
Plans to leave
Plans that destroyed all my other plans.
